Midjourney, currently the most advanced image generator using artificial intelligence, has launched a new website. The initial version of the site offers a number of improvements, including enhanced image search in the community and user sections.

The most significant change relates to faster viewing of generated images with prompts. The speed at which images load is truly astounding, as you can see in the video below.

In addition to these improvements, we can see at the top of the site that Midjourney is slowly but surely, preparing to transition from Discord to the browser.

Generating images on their own site is a significant step forward for Midjourney as it will make the service more accessible to a wider range of users. Currently, Midjourney's service is only available to users who have access to a Discord account, which as a complex chat software, can put many users off.

The transition from Discord to the browser is likely to be available in early 2024, along with the new version 6, which is expected to be a significant step forward in terms of quality, realism, and also better ability to understand text input, where the current version of Midjourney 5.2 currently lags behind and is nipping at the heels of the competing DALL-E 3, from OpenAI, at least in terms of the ability to better understand the text input.
